The chamber Music Society of Qatar and 6 Diplomatic Missions (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands and United-Kingdom) to Qatar bring a series of world-class concerts to Doha in a unique and intimate setting.

The Embassy of France in Qatar, the French Institute and the Qatar Chamber Music Society supported by Fifty One East – Fnac, Qatar Airways and the Mondrian hotel, are opening the series of concerts with a recital of classical music on the occasion of the « Centenary of Claude Debussy », with the brilliant pianist Sonja Park and the rising star mezzo-soprano Ambroisine Bre, who is traveling especially from France to be part of this event. The two artists will be accompanied by two talented musicians Dmitri Torchinsky (violon) and Hassan Moataz El Molla (cello).

This concert, with free entrance, to be held on April 17 from 18:30pm at the Mondrian Doha Hotel supports the non-profit foundation MYA ‘Moving Young Artists’ to promote classical music and support young talents in Qatar. During this concert, you can, if you wish, make a donation to this association.

Claude Debussy, French musician was born on August, 22nd on 1862 and he died in Paris on March, 25th on 1918. He is considered as the leader of the new French classical music and he is one of the most important musician of the 19th and the 20th centuries.

Ambroisine BRE discovered very early a passion for singing. She was graduated of the National Conservatory of Music in Paris and won many awards. She is the Classic Revelation of ADAMI 2017.

She was Cherubin in Mozart’s The Nozze di Figaro directed by Alexis Kossenko and she will be singing, in May 2018, under the direction of Marc Minkowski in Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito at the Prapgue National Opera.

Sonja PARK is a prize winner of several piano competitions such as the Brahms International or the Premio Trio di Trieste. Sonja has appeared on Austrian TV ORF, Hungarian Radio, RAI UNO in Italy, ABC Australia, Slovak Radio, MEZZO and NHK Television in Japan. Ms. Park has played in the most prestigious concert halls such as Konzerthaus Wien, Musikverein Wien, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Wigmore Hall London, Royal Albert Hall,Teatro del Maggio Florence and La Scala Milano, in addition to performances in more than 25 countries around the world.

Dmitri Torchinsky, a violinist who has won several violin competitions and enjoyed a busy international career as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, before joining the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Hassan Moataz El Molla, a cellist, members of the Qatar Philharmonic Ochestra too, who obtained a certificate of merit for his performance in chamber music from the International Festival of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany and another price from the International Cello Competition Rostropovich in Paris.
